I know this is video is 2 months old, but I had to share that I purchased the Isa Knox sunscreen and absolutely love it. I even like the fragrance. I have oily combo and dark skin ( African American) and it leaves zero white cast, is comfortable, a natural finish and works well under foundation! I’ve found my holy grail sunscreen! I just wish I had bought more bottles as I’m in the US and it took 3 weeks to get from Yesstyle, but well worth the wait! Thank you so much!
@@OdileMonodTheMonodist Thank you for your excellent channel! Btw…. I’ve already ordered backups before the holiday mail starts to ensure I’m not without it😀
Yes, I would LOVE an Odile video on high-end luxury Korean cosmetics!!! It’s unfortunate that only the inexpensive Kolmar sunscreens get hyped by Western content creators. I picked up the Isa Knox sunscreen after watching your previous video, and it’s currently on rotation along with my LRP UVMune 400. I still have the CNP Laboratory sunscreen on my list to try, and now I’ll add Hera to that list - the claims about the wear are really impressive! I’ll switch back to one of my Kolmar sunscreens when the weather cools.
Thank you for helping us make informed decisions for ourselves! I live in Florida USA and my personally daily sunscreen choice is a 50+ SPF, and when I go to the beach or do other outdoor activities, I choose a sport/sweat and water resistant sunscreen. I have been adding a lot of UPF clothing to my wardrobe, too!
Thank you so much for such a detailed sunscreen video. I truly consider you as the authority of Korean skincare insights, and trust all of your recommendations. I love it when I can geek out and learn about the brand history and product lines🤓 Your content is pure GOLD ⭐✨🏆🏅🫶🏻
Isa Knox UV Sun Pro is absolutely stunning - my favourite suncreen of all time. I have oily skin and find it so lightweight and also so gentle despite the fragrance (I have rosacea and eczema). It's everything Anessa should be if it didn't have so much freaking zinc. Thank you so much for the recommendation Odile!
I would be interested in a video of your favorite skincare. You mention them now and then, mostly on Instagram, but it'd be nice to have them in one video to refer to.
Am definitely interested in luxury makeup. Recently bought Whoo Lipsticks for my mum. The packaging was absolutely gorgeous and the price was very reasonable too.
Wow! Congratulations Odile! 🏆 I was thrilled to watch your video - it was packed with valuable information, thoroughly researched, and so well-structured. You left no question unanswered, and it was truly impressive. Well done, Odile! 👏👏👏 Looking forward to more insightful content from you! Love from Greece! ❤
I really appreciate how detailed you are in your descriptions, e.g. not only mentioning "this contains fragrance" but rather letting us know what type of fragrance to expect. As a typical western consumer who only ever wears sunscreen to the beach (or when outside for a long time during hot weather) this video really helped me feel confident enough to pick up a product or two with my next order... and hopefully use them regularly afterwards.
I usually couldn't find the time to watch full videos of yours, but I absolutely love putting it on headphones like a good podcast and the effort you put into it with the results is absolutely amazing. Always informative, explained part by part, beautiful. If you ever record an audiobook I'm first to preorder, even if it's a math book😂Please keep uploading!❤
Thank you so much for the kind words! I’m really glad you enjoyed the video. I’m doing well, and I hope you are too! Thanks for your continued support! ❤
A video about makeup would be great! Some of my very first Korean makeup is debon/lacvert twin cake!! I absolutely love history of whoo and ohui cc products, loose powders, compacts - so much more refined than western formulas.
This is the first video you post since I discovered your channel through Alice from Alice Rabbit Hole. The Isa Knox and a couple of the others are on my wishlist to try. I love your deep dive videos and reviews which more than pay for a more regular video posting pace, quality over quantity more than defines your content and I love it. Thank you, Odile, from this portuguese fan!
Thank you so much for your kind words! I’m thrilled that you discovered my channel through Alice and that you’re enjoying the content. I really appreciate your support and understanding of the focus on quality over quantity. Your encouragement means a lot 🙏🙏🙏 Thank you for watching!
It’s such a pleasure to be treated to another of your videos after being deprived of your spectacular insights for so long. I love the way you describe the fragrance profiles of these products. It’s clear you’re a true perfume enthusiast 🤭
I'm so happy you're back to RUclips, as always an amazing video. It's funny I feel I'm evangelizing people with your videos when I start talking about Kbeauty. Do you have a list of more matte outdoor sunscreens?
Thank you, I really appreciate it 🙏 I don't have a list specifically, but I can point you out to these two: The CNP Outdoor Fluid Sun is the semi-matte sibling of the Isa Knox sunscreen. They share 98% of the same ingredients, but the finish is semi-matte instead of satin. I recommended it before but I didn't include it in this video because rumour has it it will be reformulated next year, but it's not confirmed and you can still find it in stock on yesstyle. This is the translated product description, my review is at the bottom of the page: themonodist.com/cnp-laboratory-outdoor-fluid-sun-spf50-pa/ Dr.G's Nice Birdie Up Sun is an outdoor sunscreen created with golfers in mind (😂 I'm not making this up believe it or not), so it's not resistant to water but it's resistant to sweat and sand and is formulated to not stain or stick to the grip of golf clubs (😂😂😂😂). The finish starts off as visibly semi-glowy but semi-matte to the touch, but becomes visibly semi-matte and velvety to the touch within 30 minutes of use. This is the translated product description, my review is at the bottom of the page: themonodist.com/nice-birdie-up-sun_spf50_pa/ It was also reviewed by Bonnie Garner who has combination skin and lives in the hot and humid climate of Dubai, and she also found it to have a semi-matte finish so it's not just me 😂 btyaly.com/articles/face-sunscreen-guide-2022-part-3-korean-sunscreens/ Hope that helps!
I understand the frustration, but I don't have oily skin myself so making a video on mattifying sunscreen would feel preposterous. Although "Top 5 Korean sunscreens that made me feel like a raisin" would make quite the title I must say.
Thank you for the new video!! Love the CNP Lab Outdoor Fluid Sun you recommended! Non-greasy, and holds up to 4-plus hours of playing golf in the heat. Now I must try the O Hui Day Shield Perfect Sun Black (because I suffer from melasma and the tint will be helpful). Thank you again!!
Same! I didn’t include it in this video because I suspect it might be discontinued or reformulated soon. It wasn’t available on any Korean websites all summer and only recently came back, so my guess is they’re either discontinuing it or planning a reformulation and trying to sell off the remaining stock of the current version 😫
What a wonderful video. Always soo much information and pleasure. Thank you again ❤ Of course i would like a video about tone up or high quality make up.
Yesssss a new video lol Hello odile I want to say that I’m approaching my mature stage and I learned and took every skin advance on the history of whoo and it is now my holy grail favorite brand of all time , I try every line of the product including the bichap line and I see so much skin improvement over time Thank you thank you 🙏 The history of whoo is a ( timeless beauty magic ) ❤
The Bichup line is truly special ❤ I'm not sure if you're awarre but the line was re-formulated at the beginning of the year and I'm in the process of testing the new version. I'll make a video on the entire Bichup line at the end of the year to discuss what they changed and my experience with the products. Thank you for your support! 🙏
@@OdileMonodTheMonodist yes please as the bichup line is now my holy grail I were to hear your honest opinion to see if it’s still worth it again or better
Perfect timing! I had just rewatched your previous “best sunscreens” video in preparation for my Korean trip in October and noticed some of them had been discontinued. Thanks for this video! I will definitely be picking up the Isa Knox sunscreen (and many others) as soon as I land 😅
odile, you asked us to let you know if we’d be interested in hearing about high end korean makeup and the answer is “yes!!” i use the radiant regenerating line from history of whoo (from watching previous videos of yours😊🙏) and didn’t realize they had makeup as well! so exciting! but definitely would love to get some guidance before purchasing🙏
Thanks for the input! I’m really glad to hear you’re enjoying the Radiant Regenerating line, it's such an overlooked line! The foundation from Cheongidan line to me is hands-down the best liquid foundation available in Korea.
Thank you for all your videos. You have the most complete information available. Not even the manufacturers provide what you have done. I would love a video on foundations. I have a question on the History of whoo in your previous video on sunscreen you mentioned the The History of Whoo Radiant White Tone Up in a compact. Is that for initial application or as a touch up during the day. I am considering trying this one for my normal combination aging skin (73)
Thank you for your kind words-I’m really glad you find the information helpful 🙏 The History of Whoo Radiant White Tone Up cushion can generally work for both initial applications and touch-ups. However, since it's a cushion format, I find it a bit tricky to apply the recommended 1/4 teaspoon amount in the morning. Because of this, I find it more convenient to use it for touch-ups during the day rather than as my primary morning application. The finish is not very emollient so I think should work well for your normal combination skin.
So agree on that it’s not necessary to always be looking for something new. Ofc it’s nice to try something new here and there, but once u find something that works wonders it’s not necessary to feel pressure to constantly switch. Thanks for the great video as always 🫶🏻
Can you recommend fragrance free sunscreens similar to the ones you describe in the video? I'm just dipping my toes into the Korean sunscreens and the textures you are describing look amazing. Thank you very much for the informative video, Odile!
Og Korean formulas are 99% going to be fragranced. The ones without are westernized Korean brands that don’t have actual characteristics of Korean formulation. I believe Dr. g green mild up sun is fragrance free and odile has a video about it.
Merci beaucoup pour ton commentaire chaleureux ! 🙏 Je suis ravie que la vidéo t'ait plu. Une vidéo sur le maquillage est définitivement dans les projets ❤
Ohh, these sunscreens look so nice, I want yo try it all! But I can't, my skin is very sensitive to essential oils 😭 It would be so nice if they released the same sunscreens, but without this, like sensitive version, so everybody is happy! 😋
Then it wouldn’t be the og Korean formulas lol. That’s exactly what’s happened to many “westernized” Korean brands. Releasing things for the western market and absolutely nothing about them has any resemblance to Korean products.
I also love the Whoo radiant sun ❤ using this for a while. 😊 soooo beautiful. It’s like luxury cream in the morning! I’m interested in their primer now!
It’s great to hear you’re loving the Whoo Radiant sunscreen-it really does feel luxurious. The Cheongidan primer is personally my favourite illuminating Korean make-up primer 😎 I use the standard version, but there's also a pink tone-up version that has a similar finish to the Cheongidan Radiant sunscreen. I personally didn't repurchase it for this reason, if you're already using the sunscreen, the pink tone-up primer doesn't really add anything new. The tone-up effect is a little more noticeable compared to the sunscreen, but that's about it!
Thank you for this informative video, Odile :-) I find your professional insights very educational. I'd be very interested in your thoughts about luxury make-up, especially from The History of Whoo.
Thank you so much for your kind words! I'm really glad you found the video helpful. I'll definitely share my thoughts on luxury make-up, particularly from The History of Whoo in a video, thank you for the input 😊
Hi Odile! As usual, your video was a sensory bliss! How is The Whoo's Tone up sunscreen under makeup? I'm loving the Cheongidan one as a base, but would love to give a try to Seoul as well.
Thank you so much! I had a hard time deciding whether to feature the Whoo's Tone Up sunscreen or the Cheongidan sunscreen in this video because I use them both under make-up quite often. In the end, I chose the Cheongidan sunscreen for its illuminating finish, which I typically prefer as my skin tends to look quite dull. Whoo's Tone Up sunscreen is equally great for smoothing pores and enhancing make-up adhesion, but the finish is more natural and semi-matte, so I choose one or the other depending on the look I'm going for.
I have oily skin and I love the Hera uv protector multi defense. Actually 99% of these authentic Korean og brands works great for me. No sting , no bad spf odor and not shiny. But I am a bit underwhelmed with sunquid; maybe it’s because most og Korean spf aren’t as runny. Runny formulas tend leave a shiny reflection. It doesn’t seem to contain as much alcohol as many japanese formulas.
Odile, have you tried the Sulhwasoo UV Daily Essential Multi-protection? I loved the old uv wise creamy glow, but I bet it can feel greasy for some. Would love to hear your thoughts! PS- hope you’re doing a video on O Hui and Sooryehan soon!!❤
I did! The previous version was very similar (both in terms of performance and actual ingredient lists) to the Hera Sun Mate Daily, but I've always like the Sun Mate Daily a tad more because it worked better to smooth out skin texture. The Sulwhasoo sunscreens have been reformulated this year, I tried both the Daily Sunscreens and I was not a massive fan unfortunately. The formulas are great when it's cold, but I find they are not very resistant in warm temperatures. Even in moderately warm spring temperatures, I found they slided off my face way too easily and way too quickly. It's unfortunate because the previous versions were a lot more resistant. I haven't tried the waterproof one because I find it a little bit pointless to launch an outdoor sunscreen that is only PA+++... I'm OK with using a cosmetically elegant daily sunscreen that is only PA+++, but an outdoor sunscreen? In which situations am I even supposed to use it? 🤯🤯🤯
Thank you 🙏 I don't have oily skin myself, so recommending a matte sunscreen would have felt preposterous on my end. However, I previously reviewed a couple of matte sunscreens that might be up you alley: themonodist.com/dr-g-brightening-up-sun-spf50-pa/ themonodist.com/the-history-of-whoo-gongjinhyang-soo-vital-hydrating-sun-fluid/ The video reviews are at the bottom of the page. The Dr.G has some colour-correcting pigments in it, but it's not a tone-up sunscreen. From the comments of the video on the Dr.G sunscreens you can see that some of my followers with oily skin tried it and really liked it.
In general, yes, I still use two fingers' worth for most sunscreens. However, with the Sunquids, the formula is so watery that it’s difficult to measure that way. Instead, I apply it in two layers, using half the palm of my hand each time. Thank you 🙏
Can you plzz do a video on your favorite hanbang skincare like ranking them and your experiences using those products like a detailed video it's soo hard to choose there are soo many brands and so many lines to choose from plus they are pricey so I wanna splurge on something thats actually gonna work and have benefits plzz plzzz plzzz💖
Hello Odile,, first of all, I would like to thank you for all your videos and explanations, which are so professional, scientific and proven. Many informed people of a certain age really appreciate them, since there are only blogs and tutorials in general, which are very superficial and only for very young people. Thanks to your advice, I discovered Isa Knox and I am delighted! I would like to suggest, if it is possible, that you could do a tutorial at some point on beauty devices that complement the treatments that you always show us, and that seem to be used in the beauty routine in Korea, complementary facial care equipmentsuch as the medicube pro or the LG Pra.L Dermathera or similars . For women who would like to take care of ourselves at home. Thank you very much for your time and for spreading knowledge. Maria
Love Ohui but for some reason after 2010 era I didn’t like their updated spf formulas. It somehow didn’t feel like what I usually expect from Korean spf feeling. I will try again. My first sunquid I tried is from history of whoo and surprisingly underwhelmed. It seems to represent the Japanese liquid type feeling. I prefer the other ones from whoo in tubes :)
Odile, can you make a video on AHC and their pro shot/collajuvenation line. I'm not sure what it makes it vastly different from their newest core lifting eye cream. Love your videos.
I translated the press release when they launched the line if it helps x.com/odilemonod/status/1773653445062349014?t=cyYBh0Nhm7P3J72JiP-LUw&s=19 It includes details on the ingredients and technologies used in the line. I tried all 3 of them this year and wasn't particularly impressed to be honest. They're not terrible products, just not particularly impressive. I find the main Real Eye Cream For Face franchise much more solid personally.
I have been struggling to find good korean vitamin c serums (or products) that are stable, packaged properly etc. maybe you can make a video about vitamin c serums that are famous & good in korea (recommendations similar to this video). 😊 Maybe also serums that contain the vitamin c form tetrahexyldecyl ascorbate for sensitive skin and not just ascorbate acid. I haven’t found any good video about korean vitamin c products other than the one you have on your channel but it is a bit older🙈.
What’s the best place to buy all of those? In their flagship stores, offline or at counters in lux department stores? Where can I get the best deals(like free goodies etc)? 😊
For Whoo, O Hui, Belif, and Hera, department stores are usually your best option, especially if you’re looking for special deals or freebies. For Isa Knox, I’d recommend LG's Nature Collection stores / counters in supermarkets for the best experience. As for Carezone, Olive Young often has an exclusive promotional sets that is fantastic value for the money.
I’m curious what are the spf filters for the belif. The one at Sephora unfortunately is full of us filters there’s no point to buy it. I’d love to know the “original” ingredients.
If it helps, I translated all ingredient lists and product details on my website, this is the page for the Belif sunscreen themonodist.com/belif-uv-protector-multi-sunscreen-spf50-pa/
The Belif sunscreen is specifically designed to blur out pores like a make-up primer so I would go for that one. The formula is tinted so depending on your natural skin tone, it could help brightening up your skin tone as well but it's not a proper tone-up sunscreen. If you have a similar skin tone to mine (I'm a MAC NW5), and you're looking for a sunscreen with pore-blurring properties and a slightly more noticeable tone-up effect that is still very natural, I would go for Whoo's Radiant White Tone Up Sunscreen. I reviewed it in my guide on the Whoo sunscreens it was a strong contestant for this video as well, you can the translated product description here, my review is at the bottom of the page: themonodist.com/the-history-of-whoo-gongjinhyang-seol-radiant-white-tone-up-sunscreen/
12:53 what kind of techniques do they use to boost the SPF that much? You cant decipher the SPF just by looking at filter concentrations ofc, but 7-8% total filter content is relatively low for an SPF50+ product. Especially because one brand managed to get an SPF100 and UVAPF65.9 out of this ready-made formula, which is strange considering all other brands only get SPF50-55 with the same formula. Would be interesting to know how they did this.
I'm not sure if you're aware but in Korea we have very strict defamation laws. Even if something negative you say about a person or company is demonstrably true, it's still considered defamation under the law, unless the topic is of public interest. That's the reason why I had to censor the names of the companies involved in the sunscreen scandal in my video on the topic. For this reason, I will just provide you with simple facts: - the sunscreen shares the same base formula with many other sunscreens. Some of these sunscreens have been independently tested to offer a protection of around SPF50-53. - said sunscreen was also advertised as providing a protection of SPF50 until last year - last year said sunscreen was relaunched with a new packaging but same formula, except this time, the product description was updated to include mentions of some undefined "pre-tests" that showed the sunscreen provided a protection of SPF100 - fast forward a few months later, all mentions of the pre-tests and the SPF100 rating disappeared from their Korean website (as you can verify yourself: www.beplain.co.kr/shop/shopdetail.html?branduid=34&xcode=013&mcode=006&scode=&type=Y&sort=manual&cur_code=013006&search=&GfDT=aW93Vw%3D%3D) Forgive me for not taking a stronger stance and hopefully you can read between the lines 😅
@@OdileMonodTheMonodist @OdileMonodTheMonodist I understand what you mean. I find this quite problematic tbh. Its not like a typo they made in a comment, but it was actually in their marketing material. And the mistake is also super obvious for many reasons, it was just a repackaging of a product tested at SPF50 and UVAPF17, other brands with the same base formula only get SPF50-53, and with a total filter content of 8.6% an >SPF100 and >UVAPF65 is just impossible. I really wonder how it works in these kind of companies, bc with such an obvious mistake it makes me question their basic knowledge about cosmetic chemistry and spf testing. Especially since this happened before, where multiple consumers pointed out that it was impossible to get an SPF84 with just 5% filter content and the brand inititially kept saying it was correct.. also changing a sunscreen formula without retesting it, seems quite obvious that that could alter the spf, but apparently it didnt occur to them. Does that defamation law also apply to consumers living in the US or Europe? These products are sold in stores here, and I assume I am allowed to give my opinion then right?
@peterkloostermann when I interviewed the Korean regulatory professional for the video on the SPF controversy, he straight-up told me that this type of incidents happens all the time with fast beauty brands in Korea because most of them are started by people with no background in cosmetology and no prior industry experience, so the manufacturers that sell them these ready-made formulas can effectively tell them anything they want to close the deal and they'll just believe it, no questions asked. I've heard the same thing from several industry professionals over the years. When Korean beauty started to gain momentum a few years ago, the institutions decided to lower the barrier to entry for starting a beauty brand so now anyone can basically start a beauty brand in Korea with a small initial investment. There are tons of national programs and initiatives created to put in contact manufacturers and brand owners so it doesn't take much expertise to launch a product on the market nowadays. It might sound great on paper because it’s a system that helps forster young entrepreneurs in a way, on the other hand I find that this phenomenon led to less innovation, a flood of copycat products with nearly identical formulas and questionable marketing practices, possibly stemming from genuine ignorance / lack of experience.
@@OdileMonodTheMonodistthanks for your explanations. You really have to most interesting content on youtube. But about that defamation law, does that also apply to customers in countries outside Korea? Considering these products are sold here in Europe, I guess Im allowed to say the things Ive said right?
@peterkloostermann thank you! The law only applies to Korean nationals (whether they're living in Korea or abroad) or foreigners residing in Korea so feel free to speak out for those of us who can't 😁
I have a really important question and ive been asking around online and no one has ever gave me an answer 😢 Im hoping you could help if possible. I LOVE Isa Knox sunscreen, thanks to your review i use it everyday! But i do have melasma and wondering if i can still wear it to get full protection or do i have to switch to another sunscreen with tint so my melasma doesnt get worse. Ive been hearing lately that people with melasma must wear tinted sunscreen but im hoping thats not the case when it comes to wearing Isa Knox. Thank you in advance if you do answer my question!
The reason why tinted sunscreens are recommended for melasma is that mineral filters like Zinc Oxide offer more protection against visible light. Isa Knox's Extreme Sun Fluid is a hybrid sunscreen that contains Zinc Oxide so you don't need to switch to another sunscreen. Along with mineral filters, tinted sunscreens often contain Iron Oxides, which are pigments known to block visible light so, when combined with mineral UV filters, they offer an extra layer of protection. Iron oxides are also included in many skincare products for anti-aging and melasma (for instance Isa Knox's Age Focus Prime Double Effect Face And Eye Cream) so if you'd really like to get the extra layer of protection, you could get it from another product in your skincare routine, not necessarily your sunscreen. Iron oxides are also frequently used in make-up products, so that's also an option!
WOW, omgosh! I can't believe you answered me back and so quick at that! Thank you very much! 😃 I'm glad I don't have to switch sunscreens. I'm 37 years old and have never used makeup in my life. So are you saying I should start using that again along with my Isa Knox sunscreen to see better results and better protect?

At first, I thought that Isa Knox would be my next K-beauty sunscreen muse, but it turned out to be a miss. It was quite greasy and shiny on my skin. So, I only used it for my neck and arms. And I don't even like the scent, it smells like dishwashing liquid at home. Should I blame you for this? Absolutely NOT. It just doesn't suit my skin or my needs. If you live in a place that's cold or have low humidity, I believe this one will be a nice choice. But if you're in Southeast Asia like me, I guess you'll not need this one.
The Hera Leports is your best bet for swimming. It offers the strongest water resistance and has been tested to hold up against sea water, making it a great choice for both indoor and outdoor swimming.

I clicked so fast!
Finallyyyyy Yaaayyyyyyy
Thank you so much 🙏😍
It’s such a pleasure to be treated to another of your videos after being deprived of your spectacular insights for so long. I love the way you describe the fragrance profiles of these products. It’s clear you’re a true perfume enthusiast 🤭
Thank you for your patience 🙏 The unofficial tagline of this channel is "always pedantic, never fragrance-free" 😆
So charming voice and gentle accent
You are my asmr-goddess, Odile ❤
Aww, thank you so much! 😍
Welcome back Odile . This video was wonderful
So happy to see you, Odile 💜 Thank you for these recommendations, so excited to try them all!

Im so happy to see you back
Thanks so much 🙏
I'm so happy you're back to RUclips, as always an amazing video.
It's funny I feel I'm evangelizing people with your videos when I start talking about Kbeauty.
Do you have a list of more matte outdoor sunscreens?
Thank you, I really appreciate it 🙏
I don't have a list specifically, but I can point you out to these two:
The CNP Outdoor Fluid Sun is the semi-matte sibling of the Isa Knox sunscreen. They share 98% of the same ingredients, but the finish is semi-matte instead of satin. I recommended it before but I didn't include it in this video because rumour has it it will be reformulated next year, but it's not confirmed and you can still find it in stock on yesstyle. This is the translated product description, my review is at the bottom of the page:
themonodist.com/cnp-laboratory-outdoor-fluid-sun-spf50-pa/
Dr.G's Nice Birdie Up Sun is an outdoor sunscreen created with golfers in mind (😂 I'm not making this up believe it or not), so it's not resistant to water but it's resistant to sweat and sand and is formulated to not stain or stick to the grip of golf clubs (😂😂😂😂). The finish starts off as visibly semi-glowy but semi-matte to the touch, but becomes visibly semi-matte and velvety to the touch within 30 minutes of use. This is the translated product description, my review is at the bottom of the page:
themonodist.com/nice-birdie-up-sun_spf50_pa/
It was also reviewed by Bonnie Garner who has combination skin and lives in the hot and humid climate of Dubai, and she also found it to have a semi-matte finish so it's not just me 😂
btyaly.com/articles/face-sunscreen-guide-2022-part-3-korean-sunscreens/
Hope that helps!
please do a video recommending matte/oil controlling Korean sunscreens 😭
Will do! Thank you so much 🙏
Glad you are back
Thank you so much 🙏
Glad to see you back :3

Yesssss a new video lol
Hello odile I want to say that I’m approaching my mature stage and I learned and took every skin advance on the history of whoo and it is now my holy grail favorite brand of all time ,
I try every line of the product including the bichap line and I see so much skin improvement over time
Thank you thank you 🙏
The history of whoo is a ( timeless beauty magic ) ❤
Thank you so much 🙏 I hope you have a fantastic trip to Korea and enjoy all your new sunscreens! Safe travels!
odile, you asked us to let you know if we’d be interested in hearing about high end korean makeup and the answer is “yes!!” i use the radiant regenerating line from history of whoo (from watching previous videos of yours😊🙏) and didn’t realize they had makeup as well! so exciting! but definitely would love to get some guidance before purchasing🙏
Thanks for the input! I’m really glad to hear you’re enjoying the Radiant Regenerating line, it's such an overlooked line! The foundation from Cheongidan line to me is hands-down the best liquid foundation available in Korea.
The only caveat is only available in 2 colors lol. I am usually number 13 or 17 but when there’s only two I will use 21
The gods have blessed us
Yes, finally 😍😍😍
a comparison video for all the o hui sunscreens would be amazing odile!☺️
Thank you for the input!
Love all your videos! Glad to have you back.
Thanks so much 🙏
Thank you so much, very helpful. is it possible to make a video on sunscreens for children? Thank you
Thank you for all your videos.
Absolutely, and how are we supposed to believe a person that calls a product a "favourite" and never mentions it again? 🙄 Thanks for watching 🙏
Thank you for a very interesting video!
Thank you so much for watching!
I believe Dr. g green mild up sun is fragrance free and odile has a video about it.
would love a video on high end kbeauty!!
Thanks for the input!
Video vraiment formidable, merci ❤.
CHOUETTE MERCI
Ohh, these sunscreens look so nice, I want yo try it all! But I can't, my skin is very sensitive to essential oils 😭 It would be so nice if they released the same sunscreens, but without this, like sensitive version, so everybody is happy! 😋
Then it wouldn’t be the og
Korean formulas lol. That’s exactly what’s happened to many “westernized” Korean brands. Releasing things for the western market and absolutely nothing about them has any resemblance to Korean products.
Thank you so much for featuring some truly innovative Korean sunscreens!
You’re very welcome! Thank you for watching! 🙏
Thank you odile
Don't mind me, just commenting for the algorithm
😂😂😂 thank you! very much needed 🙏
Thanks Odile. I just ordered the Isa Knox.
You're welcome! I hope you love the Isa Knox as much as I do 😊
@@OdileMonodTheMonodist worn it for the 1st time yesterday for about 5 hours. No dehydrated, itchy skin nor eye stinging. So far so good.
I'm seated!
I love your videos
Thank you
Thanks so much 🙏
What creams for anti aging would you recommend for aging skin frown lines sagging near lips and neck affordable ?
I missed you, a hug
Thanks so much 😭
Thank you for reviews. which one will be most matte like and perfect for oily skin?
Thank you 🙏
I don't have oily skin myself, so recommending a matte sunscreen would have felt preposterous on my end. However, I previously reviewed a couple of matte sunscreens that might be up you alley:
themonodist.com/dr-g-brightening-up-sun-spf50-pa/
themonodist.com/the-history-of-whoo-gongjinhyang-soo-vital-hydrating-sun-fluid/
The video reviews are at the bottom of the page.
The Dr.G has some colour-correcting pigments in it, but it's not a tone-up sunscreen. From the comments of the video on the Dr.G sunscreens you can see that some of my followers with oily skin tried it and really liked it.
Do you still use 2 fingers worth on face on high end sunscreen ?
Yes, pls do make up as well !
Thank you !
In general, yes, I still use two fingers' worth for most sunscreens. However, with the Sunquids, the formula is so watery that it’s difficult to measure that way. Instead, I apply it in two layers, using half the palm of my hand each time. Thank you 🙏
@@OdileMonodTheMonodist
Thank you for explaining about the sun quids so 2 layers. 💗🌼🌹💗
Maria
Thank you so much, will do 🙏🙏🙏
Thank you for the recommendation, I did not like the old Hera Leports, would like to try the new version
Thanks so much 🙏
Love Ohui but for some reason after 2010 era I didn’t like their updated spf formulas.
I translated the press release when they launched the line if it helps
x.com/odilemonod/status/1773653445062349014?t=cyYBh0Nhm7P3J72JiP-LUw&s=19
It includes details on the ingredients and technologies used in the line.
If it helps, I translated all ingredient lists and product details on my website, this is the page for the Belif sunscreen themonodist.com/belif-uv-protector-multi-sunscreen-spf50-pa/
so out of all these which ones makes you look the best, aesthetically in terms of pore blurring and brightening?
The Belif sunscreen is specifically designed to blur out pores like a make-up primer so I would go for that one. The formula is tinted so depending on your natural skin tone, it could help brightening up your skin tone as well but it's not a proper tone-up sunscreen.
If you have a similar skin tone to mine (I'm a MAC NW5), and you're looking for a sunscreen with pore-blurring properties and a slightly more noticeable tone-up effect that is still very natural, I would go for Whoo's Radiant White Tone Up Sunscreen. I reviewed it in my guide on the Whoo sunscreens it was a strong contestant for this video as well, you can the translated product description here, my review is at the bottom of the page:
themonodist.com/the-history-of-whoo-gongjinhyang-seol-radiant-white-tone-up-sunscreen/
@@OdileMonodTheMonodist great, thanks!
For this reason, I will just provide you with simple facts:
- the sunscreen shares the same base formula with many other sunscreens. Some of these sunscreens have been independently tested to offer a protection of around SPF50-53.
- said sunscreen was also advertised as providing a protection of SPF50 until last year
- last year said sunscreen was relaunched with a new packaging but same formula, except this time, the product description was updated to include mentions of some undefined "pre-tests" that showed the sunscreen provided a protection of SPF100
- fast forward a few months later, all mentions of the pre-tests and the SPF100 rating disappeared from their Korean website (as you can verify yourself: www.beplain.co.kr/shop/shopdetail.html?branduid=34&xcode=013&mcode=006&scode=&type=Y&sort=manual&cur_code=013006&search=&GfDT=aW93Vw%3D%3D)
Forgive me for not taking a stronger stance and hopefully you can read between the lines 😅
I have a really important question and ive been asking around online and no one has ever gave me an answer 😢
Im hoping you could help if possible.
I'm glad I don't have to switch sunscreens. I'm 37 years old and have never used makeup in my life. I wouldn't even know where to start lol.
I actually do have Isa Knox age focus prime double. I ordered it a year ago because I watched your video on it as well. I only used it a few times though.
So are you saying I should start using that again along with my Isa Knox sunscreen to see better results and better protect?

@@OdileMonodTheMonodist thank you so much for your advice! I greatly appreciate it!!! 🙏🏼😊
